Treatment at the Practice – Chemical Peel
A “fruit acid” (naturally occurring carboxylic acids) peel accelerates cell renewal, giving the skin a smoother and more youthful appearance.
Chemical peels are an effective way to improve the condition of the skin, shrinking pores while at the same time increasing smoothness. They furthermore help to rid the skin of changes in pigmentation and also promote the resolution of other skin problems (e.g. “bad skin”).
Chemical peels encourage the generation of new skin cells at a faster rate than occurs in the normal renewal process of the skin. The result is more fresh skin cells on the surface, giving you smoother skin with a more regular texture: a younger appearance.
At the same time other skin changes, for example those caused by a less than ideal environment or the aging process can be lessened or eliminated completely – there are a variety of peels to choose from. Small wrinkles become less noticeable and the skin becomes more smooth in general.
“What can I expect after the peel?”
That depends on the type of peel you choose. For the most part, you won’t be limited in your social activities after any of our peel treatments. In the first 1-2 hours after a treatment you’ll notice a slight reddening, and for up to six days after the treatment you might notice some mild exfoliation in places. It’s important that you follow the recommendation for at home care during this period in order to achieve optimal results.
